Mary Venable Vaughn was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 2007, she founded Community & Faith Outreach Initiative, Inc. Mary’s God-given talents are used to help her community, helping them grow and bringing resources to them. Mary is the author of two books. Members Class 102 is a teaching workbook providing information that can help new and old members learn more about the church. It can also be used at bible studies in or out of the church. This book, Stepping Into Discipleship Our Journey Begins, is a book that God put on her heart to write. She is a member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. One of Mary’s favorite scriptures comes from Joshua 24:15: “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord”. Mary is married to the Rev. Emmanuel J. Vaughn and they have four children.
